For the Community

Our Wild Diversity Adventure Media program is an outdoor exploration video series tailored specifically for BIPOC youth and families. Through videos, we spotlight the diverse stories and experiences within our community, showcasing our deep connection with nature. Led by BIPOC young individuals aged 18-24, our production is both hosted and produced by those who intimately understand the importance of conservation, outdoor skills, ecosystems, and unforgettable adventures from the BIPOC perspective. Join our crew

Wild Diversity Adventure Media is seeking BIPOC crew members aged 18-24 to join our summer program, dedicated to storytelling that celebrates BIPOC joy and fosters community education in the great outdoors. We're on the lookout for individuals who are enthusiastic about learning new skills on the job, value feedback, excel under pressure, and embody traits of reliability, hard work, and punctuality. This dynamic role demands strong organizational and project management skills, coupled with a genuine passion for technology and community engagement. Join us in making a difference through impactful storytelling and outdoor adventures!

Your Work.

This crew will oversee adventure logistics, script development, shot planning, on-location filming, hosting, and editing in collaboration with our media coordinator. Paid training will be provided, but applicants should have some experience in on-camera speaking and editing. If you're ready to dive into the world of adventure media, join us for an unforgettable summer!

On-Camera

  • Hosting and Interviewing

  • Supporting audience with compelling stories

  • Promoting community safety

  • Inspiring community

Studio & Field Production

  • operate professional camcorders

  • use external sound equipment

  • set-up and take down of audio and video equipment

  • provide support for other program productions

Storytelling & Planning

  • Share community experiences and support outdoor safety

  • Create stories you want to be shared with the wider communities

  • Script shorts and long form narratives

  • assist in creating content

Video Editing

  • get training and become proficient in video editing using Premiere Pro

  • work on editing projects independently and with others

  • be a part of productions from start to finish

  • have finished video programs to show as a work sample

Share BIPOC stories of Adventure & Joy

  • July 2nd - August 29th. Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 9AM-5PM; plus an overnight field production and 1-2 weekend filming dates. Must be available for the whole 9 weeks. Crew members will work in-office in NE Portland and in the field.

  • $20-$24/hour depending on experience.
