public health & Community.
Community safety and disability justice are a fundamental part of our core values. To protect ourselves and others while continuing to build and nurture our community of QTPOC, BIPOC, and LGBTQ2S+ adventurers, we have outlined the steps we're taking to help prevent the spread of transmissible illnesses such as COVID-19 and RSV. Please note that these protocols will evolve and be updated as the state of public health continues to shift.
Steps Wild Diversity takes for adventures and workshops
We require masking during our indoor workshops and for anyone riding in the Wild Diversity van.
We provide hand washing stations during all multi-day adventures and require thorough hand washing prior to preparing or serving food as well as after bathroom trips.
We provide personal hand sanitizers and disposable gloves for all events and bring backup masks.
Participants and guides collaboratively create community agreements for each multi-day adventure, meeting the highest-risk folks where they are at.
We respect & support participants' needs for stronger personal guidelines.
As always, we sanitize all kitchen & personal gear after each adventure.
Steps Wild Diversity takes for indoor events and gatherings
When possible, we open venue windows to increase ventilation
Masking is encouraged and optional
We offer extra masks and hand sanitizer
We need your help to keep our community and yourself safe. We ask that you
Wash hands often with soap, and use hand sanitizer only when hand washing is not an option.
Mask when in our van and building and when in close proximity with others.
Note: masks are not required in our large community room if the garage door is open.
When unmasked and outdoors, maintain a 6 foot distance from others unless you have explicitly agreed otherwise. During hikes, participants may choose to be unmasked if they stay to the back of the group.
Cover coughs and sneezes then wash your hands.
To the extent possible, limit high-risk activities (flying unmasked, attending large indoor concerts, etc) the week prior to your trip.
