Open Water Swim Workshop for POC

Hosted by Oshun Swim School

This is an invitation to know water more water intimately-- to gain the confidence, knowledge and skills to spend more time in our precious lakes, rivers, and oceans. We will focus on open water comfort and safety considerations that are different from swimming in a pool. We will also do some swim skill building geared  towards beginner or intermediate swimmers. This is an experience of  water in its most natural state.  Mindfulness, meditation and self inquiry will be integrated into the experience.  There is nothing quite like swimming in a natural body of water under the wide open sky - come  join!

Please note this class is a space for those who identify as a Person of Color. Please contact if you have questions or want to find a different way to be involved!

Oshun Swim School

Oshun Swim School offers marginalized groups a safer space to explore our relationship with water and grow into embodied, joyful  swimmers.

Oshun is the Orisha (West African Yoruba deity) of rivers and lakes. She represents pleasure, healing, and all of the things that make life worth living. Despite personal, generational and historic traumas, our experience with water can be an experience of Oshun.
