5 of Our Favorite Places to Frolic with Our Pups

Looking for a place to adventure with your bff this weekend, or on a random Wednesday evening? Look no further. We’ve got you with just a few of our favorite places to hang out with our pups.

(1) Bayocean Spit: An old favorite spot to take my pup is out to Bayocean Spit near Tillamook (Unceded lands of: Confederated Tribes fo Siletz Indians, Tillamook, and Confederated Tribes of Grand Ronde). It’s about an 8-mile loop around the spit. One side (the Tillamook Bay side) has gorgeous dunes and trees, and then the ocean side is beach and sand. The flatness is great for my pup’s joints, but he gets all the smells and miles in. It also tends to stay pretty cool since it’s out near the coast — great for super hot summer days. — Jess & Walter

(2) Strawberry Knoll Beach: I really enjoy taking my pup to Strawberry Knoll Beach in Warrenton just past Astoria. She is a young pup who enjoys other dogs and people and doesn’t know how to mind her own business. The beach is big and often empty so there is plenty of room for her wild heart to run free, chase birds, and be confused about salt water. — Mercy & Alaabo

(3) Blacklock Point Trail: A place my dog Wylah and I love to hike is Blacklock Point Trail. The path is shaded and mostly flat so it makes for a pretty relaxing hike. The views at the end of the trail are gorgeous and lead to the beach too! — Estefania & Wylah

(4) Holman Lane: I love taking my dog Winnie up Holman Lane in Forest Park. Since it is a bit of a hidden entrance, and you are only able to enter by foot (you can park a few streets away), the trail tends to be lonely in the most gorgeous way. It is quiet, peaceful, and filled with sparkling trees and the pure sounds of nature. Although short, there is a bit of elevation gain, and Winnie and I are able to run up and down together and release all of the pent up energy from the stresses of life. — Skeeter & Winnie

(5) Thousand Acres Park: When I have time on a weekday evening I like to take my dog Nova to Thousand Acres Park. The park is located at the confluence of the Sandy River and the Columbia River. The park has several trail networks that will take you all over the park and to the Sandy River slough where Nova can play in the water. The park is popular for dogs, which is perfect for a very social puppy like Nova. — Charelle & Wylah
